Responsibilities

Development

Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines to process pharmacy and other health data from our app

Drive improvements to our existing data pipeline as the quantity of data and the audience for it grows; increase the efficiency and effectiveness of existing dbt and Terraform systems.

Explore and integrate data tools and systems, both to build on our current pipeline and for new projects.

Technical Leadership

Provide hands-on technical leadership (architecture and design, code reviews, and incident management) to the data team

Contribute to documentation about ETL pipelines and design choice

Maintain production servers; encourage and ensure adherence to best security practices

Product and Project Management

While we have product managers at Maisha Meds, at times, you’ll need to engage with stakeholders directly and product manage yourself

Translate ambiguous stakeholder desires into concrete requirements and action plans

Work across teams and both internal and external stakeholders to execute projects; collaborate with the business development team and product owners to create new data products

Understand customers and users and be able to provide product direction

Qualifications

Experience:

3+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer with a deep understanding of data management & ETL pipelines

Experience working with AWS and dbt

Familiarity with Terraform and/or Looker is a plus

Experience working on projects from the initial discovery phase to completion

Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and cross-team environment
